Why do we need more kindness?
Tomorrow, the Kindness in Film Summit will be taking place.
The event, organised by Premila Puri, sees industry experts coming together to explore how the film and TV industry can foster a kinder approach, in front of and behind the camera.
To me, this event is a timely reminder that we need more kindness in the world. If any industry, including the film industry, wants to thrive in the future and build sustainable practices, now is the time to adopt a kindness mindset and support the wellbeing of everyone involved.
We simply will not survive unless we have more kindness in the world, to ourselves and others.
Around 1 in 5 (21%) adults experienced some form of depression in early 2021*. As someone who has lived with a mental health condition for many years, this number worries me greatly. I believe we need to adopt a kinder approach to different areas of our life if we are to develop the compassion, resilience and hope we need to fight back against illnesses such as depression.
For this reason, I am very proud that Never Forget Marketing is supporting the Kindness in Film Summit. It's an honour to have been involved and I do hope you will book your ticket and discover how kindness in the workplace, in an industry overall and to yourself can make a real difference.
